Nintendo and Sega Seal the Deal for Exclusive Sonic the Hedgehog Titles

Mario and Sonic

The old rivalry of Nintendo and Sega’s mascots has been a thing of the past since the GameCube but today, they’ve agreed for exclusivity. Sega will be releasing exclusive Sonic the Hedgehog titles for the Wii U, starting with “Sonic: Lost World”. Not much is known about the game yet, but seeing Sonic’s success the past two years, here’s hoping to the continuation of that. Also, a new Mario & Sonic Olympic Games was unveiled this morning, “Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games” for the Wii U. Here is what Reggie Fils-Aime had to say:

“The onetime rivalry between Mario and Sonic has grown into a friendship that has never been closer. These announcements in conjunction with SEGA demonstrate the commitment we have to bringing great games to the Wii U platform, and set the stage for our upcoming announcements at E3.”
