GTA V Delayed, For Good Reason; September 17th Release Date Official

The long awaited date for GTA V’s release has now been released. Rockstar stated today that the latest entry of the Grand Theft Auto series will be coming to Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th of this year. Originally, the game had been slated for a “Spring 2013”, with rumors pointing to a March release. However, Rockstar has apologized in today’s statement for pushing the game back by six months. The announcement read:

“We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTA V is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.”

It is refreshing to see a developer concerned with making their project perfectly crafted before releasing it on shelves to the consumer. Rockstar is known as a company that stands on its quality, as well as quantity, and I have no doubt that GTA V will be their boldest title yet. There is still no word on either a PC or Wii U version at this time, but rest assured, Gamers Xtreme will follow closely. For more news on GTA V, stay tuned to Gamers Xtreme, and as always, “Game On!”
