New details have emerged from Famitsu about Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus, which was announced for the PS Vita a few months ago. While the game is a straight port of the NGS2 from the PS3, Team Ninja has added two extra game modes: Ninja Race and Tag Mission.
Ninja Race is a mode where Hayabusa will obtain items that make him speed up dramatically, while Tag Mission will let players switch between Hayabusa, Ayane, Momiji and Rachel. The details are scarce but knowing that Team Ninja is putting some extra content into the Vita version is a nice touch.
Many have been asking if this version will have all the blood and gore from Ninja Gaiden 2. Seeing as how this is a port of the PS3 Sigma version, it’s a safe assumption to say that it will have the purple mist again instead of the blood and gore. However, the big question is if they’ve nailed 60 fps on this Vita version. Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus had 30 fps as opposed to the signature 60 fps the series has always had. Here’s hoping Team Ninja learned how to get more out of the Vita since its launch.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus is slated to hit Japanese retail on February 28th, 2013. No official date has been given for North America but it should be within the same timeframe.
