New PSN Store Taken Down Overseas, UK Still Waiting

PlayStation 3 owners in the UK and Australia regions were treated to a first look at the exciting new PlayStation Store design this morning, only to have the experience abruptly cut short.

Many of you are probably excited after hearing about the coming changes to the store (for the unaware, you can check our preview and analysis here) which are set to be put in place on October 23rd. The update saw an earlier release in the UK and AU regions, but it seems the updates weren’t 100% ready just yet. Reports indicate faster downloads and a heavily optimized interface, but also included difficulty adding funds to wallets and occasional problems navigating the store’s interface.

The store has since been re-opened in Australia, but UK owners are still waiting for their turn with the new layout. No word has been released yet as to when the UK update is set to go live permanently.
